Scheduling a Newborn Photography Session

Nothing is sweeter or more innocent than a newborn baby, and I want to capture that beautiful sleepy newborn phase in my newborn photography sessions. Newborn photography is special because babies change so fast but I can freeze time in the portraits of your new addition.

I recommend scheduling your newborn photography session for when your new baby is between 5 and 14 days old. By the time they are 5 days old, babies have started to fill out just slightly, any skin discoloration from birth is evening out, and the baby’s parents are also probably feeling up to venturing out as a family. After 14 days of age, babies start to get stronger and more wiggly, and also remain alert for longer periods of time, so getting those sleepy, cuddly images of the baby gets a bit trickier. That’s not to say it’s impossible though, so give me a call or fill out the contact form even if your baby is older than 14 days and you’re interested in newborn portraits. I have successfully photographed babies up to 6 weeks of age.

Ideally, contacting me when you are between 36 and 38 weeks pregnant is best because I will schedule you with a tentative session date, and then when your baby is born we can always adjust that date as necessary.

Investment

My digital newborn session fees start at $650.00 for baby only and  $725.00  for baby and family. Please call the studio for information on what is included with these digital packages.

My heirloom fine art prints are printed on archival paper and mounted to keep them looking beautiful year after year. In addition to prints I offer wall art including canvases and metal prints, and a wide selection of other photographic gifts.
